The Court: A Legal Battle That Puts Family, Ambition and Justice on Trial
NGTV News | Entertainment Desk
Tamil OTT entertainment is set for another courtroom drama with The Court, a new legal series scheduled to premiere on JioHotstar on September 4, 2026. The series combines courtroom confrontation with an intensely personal family conflict, giving the familiar legal-drama format an emotional dimension.
At the heart of the story is Yazhini, a young lawyer determined to establish her identity in a profession dominated by experienced advocates. Her journey becomes considerably more complicated when she finds herself fighting a major case against her own father, Raj Sekar, an accomplished senior lawyer.
The central conflict gives The Court its strongest hook. The courtroom is no longer simply a place where legal arguments are exchanged; it becomes the setting for a clash between professional ambition, family relationships and personal conviction. Yazhini’s speech stammer adds another layer to her character, making her struggle about confidence and perseverance as much as legal victory.
Yogalakshmi leads the series as Yazhini, following her earlier OTT appearance in Heart Beat. V. Jayaprakash and Arjun Syam Gopan are also part of the ensemble. The casting suggests a mix of youthful energy and seasoned performances, particularly in the father-daughter courtroom confrontation.
