Khelo India Samvaad: PM Modi to Engage with Youth on Sports and Nation Building
NEW DELHI, AUGUST 27, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address young Indians today through the nationwide ‘Khelo India Samvaad – Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath’, marking an important moment in the country’s National Sports Day celebrations. The Prime Minister will address the programme virtually at 11 AM.
Organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the initiative will connect young people across the country with India’s sporting vision. The programme is being conducted at two colleges in every district across states and Union Territories, bringing sports, youth leadership and nation-building into a common conversation.
The dialogue will focus on five key areas: strengthening India’s sports ecosystem, nurturing talent for the 2036 Olympics, developing youth leadership, building a youth-driven Viksit Bharat, and promoting a Nasha Mukt Yuva movement.
Following the Prime Minister’s address, local sessions will bring students together with sportspersons, medal winners, public representatives and MY Bharat volunteers. Young participants will also have an opportunity to put forward their ideas and aspirations through the Yuva Samvaad segment.
With India seeking to expand its presence across Olympic disciplines, the event is expected to place greater emphasis on grassroots talent, better sporting facilities, coaching and long-term athlete development.
