India celebrates Teachers’ Day every year on September 5, marking the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the philosopher, educator and second President of India. The tradition began in 1962, when Radhakrishnan suggested that his birthday be observed as a day dedicated to teachers instead.
Teachers play a role that extends far beyond textbooks and classrooms. They help students develop knowledge, confidence, curiosity, critical thinking and values that can shape their lives for years to come.
On this special day, NGTV English salutes every teacher whose guidance, patience and dedication continue to inspire generations.
To every teacher: Thank you for helping us learn, dream and become better human beings. Happy Teachers’ Day! ❤️
