Chandigarh Court Issues Notice to Salman Khan, Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Being Human Foundation Over Alleged Franchise Dispute

Chandigarh, August 27, 2026: A Chandigarh court has issued notices to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and the Being Human Foundation in connection with an alleged dispute involving a Being Human jewellery franchise.

The matter concerns businessman Arun Gupta, who had reportedly operated a Being Human jewellery showroom in the Manimajra area of Chandigarh. According to his advocate Rajwinder Raj, Gupta invested more than ₹2 crore in the venture but allegedly received little or no support from Salman Khan or the trust, resulting in substantial financial losses.

Speaking to ANI, Advocate Rajwinder Raj alleged that the franchise was awarded to his client when the first Being Human jewellery showroom was launched in Chandigarh. He claimed that Gupta was invited to the Bigg Boss house by Salman Khan during the brand launch and was also given an assurance that the actor would personally visit Chandigarh to promote the showroom.

According to the lawyer, however, the promised promotional support did not materialise. Raj further alleged that neither Salman Khan nor the trust subsequently followed up with the franchisee. He also claimed that the franchise rights were later assigned to Style Quotient Jewellery Pvt. Ltd., but his client’s concerns allegedly remained unresolved.

The Chandigarh court issued the notices on August 24, 2026, in the matter of Arun Gupta vs Style Quotient Jewellery Pvt. Ltd. The proceedings are currently at the pre-cognisance stage under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The court has sought responses from the parties and directed them to appear either personally or through their legal representatives.

The next hearing has been scheduled for October 5, 2026.

Earlier reports on the dispute have also noted allegations concerning investment, showroom infrastructure, promotional commitments and irregular jewellery supply. However, these remain allegations made in the complaint and have not been finally adjudicated by the court.

NGTV NEWS will continue to track developments in the case as the legal proceedings progress.
