OMG Season 4 Returns With Somak Ghosh and Agni, Nostalgia Sweeps Social Media
Kolkata, August 27, 2026: Bengali comedy has received a nostalgic revival with Mirchi Plus bringing back its much-loved comedy series OMG for Season 4. The return of popular duo Somak Ghosh and Agni has already generated considerable excitement among fans.
The first episode, titled “Baba-r Promotion?”, premiered on August 26, marking a new chapter for the series following RJ Mir’s departure from Mirchi FM earlier this year.
The episode centres around a familiar Bengali family situation. When the father receives a promotion along with a transfer to Delhi, Somak appears in a vibrant yellow sari and heavy makeup, portraying an emotional and highly dramatic mother who struggles to accept the prospect of her husband leaving Kolkata.
From worrying about loneliness and relatives to questioning why her husband could not simply opt for voluntary retirement, the character delivers a series of exaggerated reactions that playfully mirror the emotional drama commonly seen in Bengali television serials.
Agni, playing the son, attempts to bring some practicality into the situation. His reminders about his father’s years of hard work, along with his humorous concern over whether his mother has taken her medicine, add to the comic timing.
One of the episode’s highlights comes when Agni notices his mother’s dark red lipstick and makeup getting smudged during her dramatic crying. The ensuing argument over whether such elaborate makeup is appropriate for an airport farewell becomes one of the episode’s funniest sequences.
The episode concludes with a fourth-wall-breaking moment as Somak and Agni turn towards the camera, signalling the beginning of Season 4.
Fans have taken to social media to celebrate the reunion, with many describing the comeback as a nostalgic return of a much-loved comic pairing.
With RJ Mir no longer associated with Mirchi FM, Somak and Agni’s return through Mirchi Plus marks a fresh phase for OMG, promising more relatable Bengali humour, family drama and satire in the episodes ahead.
