Kerala’s 19-Year-Old Kaziah Liz Mejo Crowned Miss Universe India 2026
Jaipur, August 25, 2026: Kerala-born law student and model Kaziah Liz Mejo, 19, has been crowned Miss Universe India 2026, emerging as one of the youngest and most promising names in India’s pageant circuit.
Mejo secured the national title at the grand finale in Jaipur on August 23, competing against 52 finalists from across the country. Her victory marks a significant milestone for Kerala, as she becomes the first Keralite to win the Miss Universe India title under its current format.
The young achiever already has an impressive pageant résumé. She won Miss Teen Diva 2024 and subsequently finished as first runner-up at Miss Teen International 2025, establishing herself as a rising figure in the Indian pageant landscape.
Beyond modelling and pageantry, Mejo is pursuing law and has trained extensively in classical dance. Her interests also extend to music, public speaking and acting. She has appeared in the Malayalam film Shylock, adding another dimension to her growing public profile.
Raised in Abu Dhabi, Mejo brings together her Kerala heritage with international exposure. Her journey reflects a combination of academics, performing arts, discipline and pageantry.
Following her national triumph, Mejo is now preparing for the international stage. She is set to represent India at the 75th Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico in November 2026, where she will compete against delegates from across the globe.
From teenage pageantry to the national crown at 19, Kaziah Liz Mejo’s journey has entered a defining new chapter—with Kerala and India now watching her global debut.
