India Take Command as Rain Shapes Colombo Test

The SSC surface continued to favour batting, offering more bounce than the Galle pitch and allowing well-set batters to score freely. However, signs of wear are expected to bring spin increasingly into play as the match progresses.

Weather remained the biggest disruption. Dark clouds, drizzle and intermittent rain repeatedly interrupted play, while fading light further complicated the final session. The humid Colombo conditions kept both teams on alert throughout the day.

With two early wickets, India ended the day firmly in control, leaving Sri Lanka facing a steep challenge on Day 3.
